Oats vada !!

Cooking is a word that sounds hard but eating is something that soothes the souls to hear as well to carry out in action . Whereas once interested, cooking is an art that delights self and others. Cooking is a stress buster too. The aesthetic part of cooking is the fulfillment one gets feeding others. For all those foodies out there stuck up from their regular outing for cuisine due to lock-down, here is a suggestion of home made south Indian recipe that would delight your evening. Even the cooking explorers who had grabbed this lock-down period for improving their cooking skills by learning a variety of cooking can also put up a try with this dish.

Our dish for today is Vada. Not the regular dal vada let our's be a cliche assaulter by utilizing oats. Oats the fiber rich antioxidant that lowers cholesterol and sugar levels.

Oats - 1 Bowl, Oil as required, 2 Big Onions, Green Chillies-5 , Salt - 1 Spoon, Banana leaf / Plastic Sheet( Even Packet Milk Cover can be used ) - 1 No



Preparation :


1.Take a cup of oats soak in quarter cup of water for 15 minutes
2. Cut 2 big onions, 5 Green chillies into small pieces ( ginger,coriander, Curry leaves could be used if needed but I haven't used due to lock-down and reduced availability of ingredients)
3. After 15 minutes soaking of oats,  add these onions, chillies and essential level of salt ( a spoon) to the mixture and mix them  well with hand .
4. Leave on the batter to blend well for 10 minutes
5. Then take a clean plastic sheet or banana leaf apply oil over it and have oil applied on your fingers so that it would be easy to tap up the batter in shape.
6. Now take little ball of batter and tap it in small plate shape over the banana leaf .
7. Take oil (I have used refined oil) in a frying pan and boil it for five minutes in high flame.
8. Now put the tapped vada shaped batter into the oil and fry in low flame till it turns light brown in color.
9. Now the most important part , happily taste the recipe 😁
